OB370 Reliable Retrieves
Instructor: Sara Brueske
This class will cover all of the pieces needed to train a reliable obedience retrieve. We will begin by teaching each piece of the behavior chain including the hold and front position. Then we will work to put the pieces together to produce a reliable retrieve. The instructor feedback will be catered to help your dog earn top points on their retrieve exercise regardless of their obedience venue.

This is a class about preparing our dogs for the competition or seminar environment. Over and over I see dogs that are unprepared or rehearsing behavior we don't want at seminars, classes and trials. Over time this leads to more stress from both handler and dog and I want to help out with that!
OB225 Competition Heeling Part Two

Heeling requires significant concentration and sustained focus to maintain position, focal point and engagement. Heeling is easily the most difficult obedience exercise. When trained properly, it is a beautiful dance between dog and handler that is a joy to watch.

Oftentimes, we need another behaviour to turn the lightbulb on and bridge the gap of understanding for our dogs. This is why I love a duration nose target! It's one of those behaviours that is simple but greatly underappreciated. Who would ever think the lowly duration nose touch could be your gateway breakthrough to teaching and transferring the concept of HOLD, otherwise known as STILLNESS, to other behaviours? In this workshop, you'll learn how to get a simple duration nose touch and how it can have a dramatic effect on your dog’s understanding and application of hold for other behaviours. Once our dogs understand the concept of holding position through a duration nose target, they very quickly learn to apply it to other behaviours. Get your duration nose touch, and the often pesky hard-to-get stillness behaviours you've been struggling with will begin to make sense to your dog.
