Rerun Sept 10 - The Magic Chain
ABOUT THE COURSE
Want to know a secret to make hunt test’s a lot easier…
It’s the core behavior chain game that lets you practice all the fundamentals of a field retrieve with food instead of bumpers or birds.
This game lets you practice and build value for critical behaviors your dog is required to do at a test.
- The Holding Blind wait
- Walking nicely to the line
- Sitting steady
- Going to the target (mark or blind)
- Coming back quickly and into heel position.
Not just individually, but as an entire behavior chain. Each link rewards the previous one, making it possible to positively change mistakes, add & proof new levels of distraction and troubleshoot common issues in your performance!
Whether you have a puppy with no hold or fetch – or an adult dog who already has a Hunt Test title – this game “The Magic Chain” gives you the tools to build or fix behaviors…
It also lets you trouble shoot CHALLENGES OF AROUSAL that happen while walking to the line, watching the marks, and in the field – like throwers, duck calls and other people.
In this workshop, you will see each basic behavior that makes up the chain. How to link them together into The Magic Chain. And how to add the distractions of a field test.
Along the way, we will show real issues you many encounter and how to troubleshoot them. Like:
- Forging to get to the line fast
- Dogs visiting the gunner/thrower instead of returning
- Handling duck calls and gunfire
The best part? It’s really fun, you can do it inside or outside and it’s the most efficient way to practice 5 key behaviors in one game!
